About the Job

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a highly experienced Plasma Diagnostics Scientist to join an advanced experimental R&D environment focused on high-temperature plasma and multiphysics systems for next-generation energy technologies.

This role offers the opportunity to work close to experimental facilities and contribute directly to the development of advanced diagnostic systems used to measure and analyze complex plasma behavior.

About the Role:

As a Plasma Diagnostics Scientist, you will play a key role in the development, operation, and analysis of plasma diagnostics systems used during experimental campaigns. You will act as a subject matter expert in diagnostics, supporting experiment planning, execution, and data interpretation.

You will work in close collaboration with mechanical and electrical engineers, software developers, physicists, and data specialists, and help guide the technical direction of diagnostics development for future experimental programs.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Develop and improve diagnostic methods for measuring plasma and related physical parameters.

Participate as a subject matter expert during experimental campaigns and support real-time and post-experiment analysis.

Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, software, and physics.

Support design, integration, and calibration of diagnostic instrumentation and data acquisition systems.

Contribute to planning of future experiments and diagnostics roadmaps.

Participate in scientific documentation and reporting of experimental results.

Who You Are:

We are looking for a senior experimental plasma physicist with deep diagnostics expertise who enjoys working in multidisciplinary teams and fast-moving research environments. You are service-minded, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of complex experimental systems.

You are confident acting as a technical authority within your domain while remaining collaborative and open to different perspectives.

We believe you have:

• A PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) in Plasma Physics or a closely related field.
• At least 10 years of practical experience within plasma diagnostics, experimental plasma physics, or closely related experimental research environments after completing your PhD.
• Extensive hands-on experience developing, operating, and improving diagnostic systems for plasma or similar physical systems.
• Experience leading or coordinating experimental campaigns and diagnostics development.
• Strong background in experimental data analysis and interpretation.

It is considered a plus if you also have:

• Experience with signal processing, calibration procedures, and uncertainty analysis.
• Experience with data acquisition systems and control system integration.
• Background in high-temperature plasma research or complex multiphysics experiments.
• Experience working in fast-paced, collaborative laboratory environments.
• A strong publication record within experimental plasma physics or diagnostics.
